Agricultural Finance Schemes

  1. Agriculture being the backbone of the Indian Economy, Bank of Baroda, is contributing significantly in accelerating the pace of rural development by providing finance to farmers by way of following agriculture products.
    Baroda Kisan Credit Card (BKCC)- Empowering the farmer : The BKCC facility designed exclusively for the benefit of the farmers aims to provide them the opportunity to manage and utilise their funds in the manner they deem fit. BKCC provide adequate and timely support to farmers for their production needs e.g. purchase of quality inputs, investment requirements like purchase of agriculture implements/tractor etc, farming expenses towards farm maintenance, unforeseen family expenses (consumption) and maintenance of non-farm activities.
  2. Purchase of agricultural implements including indigenous improved ones being utilised for field operations including harvesting/sorting/grading, for not only to farmers, but also for land-less labourers.
  3. Purchase of heavy agricultural machinery like tractors, power-tillers, etc. either by farmers having larger holdings with irrigation facilities or group of farmers with irrigation facilities.
  4. Purchase of second hand tractors to provide opportunity to those interested farmers in dry land farming or having a small land holding who can not afford to purchase new tractors.
  5. Production credit for raising various crops from the point of preparatory tillage till harvesting, for land owners or permanent tenants or lease holders or share croppers.
  6. Farm produce marketing loan against pledge of reciept of warehouse/ cold storages to the farmers.
  7. Development of irrigation facilities, covering sinking of wells/bore wells, lifting of water by installation of pump sets, transporting of water through field channels, water saving system like drip irrigation/sprinkler irrigation etc. for farmers .Energising of pump sets through Non-conventional Energy Resources like wind mill, solar energy etc. or installation of generation sets is also covered.
  8. Extending working capital needs to dealers of dealers/ distributors/traders of agricultural inputs like seeds, fertilisers etc. live stock inputs like cattle feed, medicine etc. and supply of agriculture machinery/ irrigation system.
  9. Extending Custom services to farmers by way of machinery like tractor thresher etc. Equipment on rental basis and maintenance of cold storage /godowns for hiring, by individuals, institutions / organisations.
  10. Providing employment to the unemployed technical personnel through Agro service Centre.
  11. Setting up of Agri clinic and Agribusiness centre by agriculture graduates.
  12. Construction farm building/structures like cattle shed, tractor shed, thrashing yards, fencing etc. by individual farmer or firms engaged in agricultural activity and is of long term nature.
  13. Construction/Expansion/modernisation/Renovation of Rural Godown/Cold storage.
  14. Development of horticulture including production, processing and marketing of various fruits, vegetables, plantation and flowers, which cover from nursery to the point of market, by individual farmers, firms, organisation like co-operative societies etc. and which covers both long term and short term requirement.
  15. Development of land like bunding, terracing, levelling etc. and reclamation of saline, alkaline, ravine soils by farmer or organisation like co-operative societies etc.
  16. Development of allied activities to agriculture like dairy, poultry , fisheries, sericulture, mushrooms, apiculture etc. by production , processing and marketing by farmer, land less labourers, firms, organisations, like co-operative societies etc .finance by way of long term nature and short term nature is being extended.
  17. Financing Scheduled Caste & Scheduled tribes who have been provided/allotted land by the State Govt, can be financed for purchase of farm implements irrigation pair of bullocks etc.

Baroda Kisan Credit Card (BKCC)

Baroda Kisan Credit Card (BKCC) aims at providing adequate and timely credit for the comprehensive credit requirements of farmers under single window with flexible and simplified procedure adopting wholesome approach.

Eligibility :

All agriculturists with good track record of repayment who are eligible for sanction of credit limit of Rs 1000/- and above irrespective of their period of dealing with our branch or fresh applicant having good reputation/ report.

Literate and illiterate farmers who are owner of land, cultivators and permanent tenants or leaseholders, share croppers cultivating crop for a period not less than 5 years are eligible for their production credit requirement.

Coverage of Activities :

The mode of finance covers activities for purchase of agricultural inputs required for production of crop, farm produce marketing loan farm maintenance, consumption needs, allied activities, non- farm sector activities, personal loans, loans for redemption of debt availed from non- institutional lenders etc. and also Investment credit for land based and non land based activities.

Quantum of finance :

The quantum of finance will be assessed based on scale of finance projected average farm income, repaying capacity and / or value of security Max. up to Rs 10 lacs.

Issuance of BKCC :

After sanction of Bkcc limits and execution of security documents, Bkcc will be issued along with cheque book and pass book.

Availment of finance :

Specially designed cheque book to the literate BKCC holders for facilitating drawings from their account for Production line of credit. For investment credit immediate disbursement to the dealers as per request of the borrower. Reimbursement of Investment credit items purchased through cheque book provided for production credit is permissible.

Incentives/Concessions/Benefits :

  • Interest @ of Saving Bank paid on credit balances if any maintained by the borrower.
  • No processing charges for the credit limit up to Rs 10 lacs under direct agriculture.
  • No documentation charges for the credit limit up to Rs 2 lacs and 50% of regular charges for credit limit over Rs 2 lacs to Rs 10 lacs, under direct agriculture.
  • Bkcc holders are covered under master policy of Personal accident Insurance Package.

Loyalty & Reward :

In order to recognize the loyalty, satisfactory dealings, good recovery records, better use of Bkcc scheme, improvement of farm production, productivity & farm income, the following special facilities/ concessions and incentives is being given to the different categories of Bkcc holders under the notified scheme:

  • The quantum of consumption credit needs for the farm family maintenance for the -1- year would be assessed and extended with maximum ceiling of Rs 50000/-.
  • Entire premium of Rs 5/- will be paid by the bank for personal accident insurance of Bkcc farmer borrowers who have satisfactory record of the dealings with the bank for a period exceeding 5 years.
  • Reduction in the applicable rate of interest ranging from 0.25% to 0.50% both in production and investment loans will be extended depending upon the categories of borrowers as specified in the scheme.

Repayment Schedule :

Production line of credit will be a revolving Agriculture cash credit account subject to annual review valid for 5 years. In case if Investment credit repayment period is fixed on quarterly/ half yearly or annual basis, based on income generation of the farmer.


Agriculture Implements :

Agriculture being the back bone of the Indian Economy, Bank of Baroda has contributed significantly in accelerating the pace of rural development by providing finance to farmers.
The mode of finance covers activities for purchase of indigenous and improved agriculture equipments/ implements such as sprayers, dusters, hand tools such as khurpi, sickles, secatures, etc, threshers, winnowers, seed-cum-fertilizer drill and bullock or camel and or animal drawn cart etc.

Eligibility:

Progressive, literate and illiterate farmers who are owner of land, cultivators, permanent tenants or leaseholders (for reasonably long period).

Nature Of Facility : Demand loan / Term loan/ Cash Credit

Repayment Schedule :

Repayment period is fixed on quarterly/ half yearly or annual basis, based on income generation of the farmer. Maximum period is 7 years.

Tractors and Heavy Agricultural Machinery

Agriculture being the back bone of the Indian Economy, Bank of Baroda has contributed significantly in accelerating the pace of rural development by providing finance to farmer.

The mode of finance covers activities for:

  • purchase of new or second hand tractor,
  • tractor drawn implements,
  • power tiller and other agriculture machines etc.

Eligibility:

Progressive, literate and illiterate farmers engaged in cultivation of crops as owner of land, permanent tenants or leaseholders (for reasonably long period) and who utilize the tractor/ machinery economically to the minimum extent of 50% on their own land holding.

  • Should have perennially irrigated land of 4 acres ( tractors to farmer with land holding below 6 acres of irrigated land is considered for tractors with horse power upto 35 hp.)
  • Should cultivate high value commercial crops such as sugarcane, grapes, bananas & vegetables.
  • Should have progressive outlook in adoption of improved farm practices and modern agriculture technologies.

Nature Of Facility: Term loan

Repayment Schedule :

Repayment period is fixed on quarterly/ half yearly or annual basis, based on income generation from crops taken and off farm activities of the farmer. The maximum repayment period is 9 years for tractors and 7 year for power-tiller.

Financing Second Hand Tractors

To enhance the level of farm mechanization for timely agriculture operation, provide opportunity to farmers engaged in dry land farming or having small land holding who can not afford to purchase first hand tractor, can now obtain finance for second hand tractor under this scheme.

The mode of finance covers activities for purchase of second hand tractor with max. loan amount of Rs 2 lacs:

Purchase of second hand tractor up to 80% of the value assessed
or
Current market price of new tractor of same model/manufacturer minus depreciation @12% p.a. at straight line method.
plus
expenses for repairing not exceeding Rs 50000/- as per estimate.
plus
Equipment cost (depreciated) if not considered in valuation mentioned above.

Eligibility :

Farmers engaged in cultivation of crops as owner of land, permanent tenants or leaseholders (for reasonably long period)

  • Should have perennially irrigated land of 2 acres in his own name or jointly with family members who will be joint borrowers.
  • Farmers of other agriculture lending scheme viz. dairy, poultry, fisheries are also eligible to undertake the transportation of their produce as well as hollage work.

Nature Of Facility: Term loan

Repayment Schedule :

Repayment period is fixed on quarterly/ half yearly or annual basis, based on income generation from crops taken and off farm activities of the farmer. The maximum repayment period is 5 years.

Cultivation of Crops

Agriculture being the back bone of the Indian Economy, Bank of Baroda has contributed significantly in accelerating the pace of rural development by providing finance to farmer for purchase of agricultural inputs and other expenses of raising of crops.

The mode of finance covers activities for purchase of agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and for payment labour charges, irrigation cess, etc.including Post harvest finance against pledge/ hypothecation of Agriculture Produce.

The quantum of loan depend upon the scale of finance fixed by the district technical committee.

Eligibility :

Progressive, literate and illiterate farmers who are owner of land, cultivators, permanent tenants or leaseholders (for reasonably long period) or share croppers.

Nature Of Facility : Demand loan / Term loan/ Cash Credit/BKCC

Repayment Schedule :

Repayment period is generally 12 months, can be extended up to 18 months in respect of crop with longer duration such as adsali sugarcane.

Farm Produce Marketing Loan

To provide finance to farmer against pledge of receipt issued by state, central govt. ware houses as well as receipt issued by owners of private regd. Warehouse, godown and cold storages.

Objective :

  • To provide liquidity to the farmers.
  • To enable farmers to hold on their produce during the period of bumper crop harvest when market price are ruling at the lowest.
  • To facilitate agriculturist to realize remunerative price by selling their farm produce during off- season when market is ruling high.

Quantum of loan :

  • The maximum quantum of loan is Rs 5 lac with a margin of 15 to 40%.
  • Margin depend upon the volatility of price of agriculture produce.
  • Valuation of the farm produce should be decided on the basis of market price or control price (if declared ) which ever is lower.

Eligibility :

Farmer intending to avail farm produce marketing loan should be a farmer and farm produce to be stored must be the produce of his own farm.

Nature Of Facility : Demand loan

Repayment Schedule : Repayment period not exceeding 12 months.

Irrigation Potential

Agriculture being the back bone of the Indian Economy, Bank of Baroda has contributed significantly in accelerating the pace of rural development by providing finance to farmer. Bank provide finance to enhance irrigation potentials of farmers.

The mode of finance covers activities such as construction of surface well, deepening, renovation of existing wells, purchase of oil engine/electric motor and pump set, construction of shallow and deep tube wells, leveling of land for irrigation, construction of bandharas , sprinkler irrigation, drip irrigation and boring of well etc.

Eligibility :

Literate and illiterate farmers engaged in cultivation of crop as owner of land, cultivators, permanent tenants or leaseholders (for reasonably long period) or share croppers.

Nature Of Facility : Term loan

Repayment Schedule :

Repayment period depend upon purpose of investment and economic life of the asset, maximum 9 years.

Dealers/Distributors/Traders of Agriculture Inputs/Livestock Inputs

Agriculture being the backbone of the Indian Economy, Bank of Baroda has contributed significantly in accelerating the pace of rural development by providing finance to farmer. Bank also finance to dealers engaged in distribution of agriculture inputs.

The mode of finance covers activities of distribution of agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, insecticides, cattle /poultry feed, fishing net, sprinkler/drip irrigation machinery, spare parts of oil engine/tractor/fishing boats, tools required for poultry/horticulture etc.

Eligibility :

Traders, firm or company or any institution or cooperative society engaged in distribution of agriculture inputs is eligible under this scheme to the extent of their credit needs.

Nature Of Facility : Cash credit/BD/BP/LC/Guarantee etc

Repayment Schedule : 12 month annual review.

Financing Agencies Providing Custom Services To Farmers

Agriculture being the backbone of the Indian Economy, Bank of Baroda has contributed significantly in accelerating the pace of rural development by providing finance to farmer. Bank also finance to Firms, individuals providing custom services to farmers.

The mode of finance covers activities of for purchase of tractor, bulldozer, fixed wing aircrafts and helicopter with accessories for aerial spraying, drill rig for boring wells, drilling tube wells, equipment for construction of wells, lift irrigation, purchase of combine harvester, thresher for hiring on custom basis, construction of godown, warehouse to provide storage facility on rental basis, purchase of truck for transporting agriculture produces to farmer on hiring basis, acquiring milk tankers for transporting milk, establishing curing barn for tobacco, working capital finance to organization/ institution providing such services etc.

Eligibility :

All individuals, entrepreneurs, organizations, institutions corporations such as agro industries corporations, market yard or authorized licensee in market yard, warehouse panchayats and agro service centers who are capable of carrying out such activities and have viable schemes for providing custom services to farmers.

Term loan for capital expenditures & Cash credit for working capital requirements.

Repayment Schedule :

12 month for cash credit and monthly/qtly/half yearly and annual installments for term loan maximum 7 years.

Providing Employment To Unemployed Technical Personnel Through Agro Service Centers

The mode of finance covers activities of providing custom service by way of ploughing, discing, leveling, threshing, hiring of agriculture implements, equipments and pump sets, distribution of seeds, fertilizer, diesel oil, drilling of well, sale of spare parts, repairs to agriculture implements, equipments farm machineries etc.

Eligibility :

An unemployed Engineer/ Agricultural graduate sponsored by agro Industries Corporation or state government and has viable schemes for providing custom services to farmers.

Nature Of Facility :

Term loan for capital expenditures & Cash credit for working capital requirements.

Repayment Schedule :

12 month for cash credit and monthly/qtly/half yearly and annual installments for term loan maximum 7 years.

Agriclinics and Agribusiness Centers by Agriculture Graduates

Agriculture being the backbone of the Indian Economy, Bank of Baroda is contributing significantly in accelerating the pace of rural development by providing finance to farmer. With diversification and modernization of agricultural practices, the need to augment support and extension services to farmers was felt.

Agriclinic :

To provide expert advice to farmers on cropping practices, technology dissemination, crop protection from pests and diseases, market trends and prices of various crops and clinical services for animal health to enhance the productivity of crops/animals.

Agribusiness :

These centers to provide a package of soil testing input testing transfer of technology and extension services to farmers.

Eligibility :

An unemployed Agricultural graduate in subjects like horticulture, animal husbandry, forestry, dairy, veterinary, poultry farming, pisciculture and other allied activities including new emerging areas in agriculture sectors trained by accredited training institute of MANAGE.

Nature Of Facility :

Term loan for capital expenditures & Cash credit for working capital requirements.

Repayment Schedule :

12 month for cash credit and monthly/qtly/half yearly and annual installments for term loan maximum 7 years.

Financing Construction and repair of Farm Building and Structures

The mode of finance covers activities of for construction and repair of farm building and structures viz., bullock shed, tractor and truck shed, farm store, godown and farm silos, threshing yard, gur making shed. Proposal for dairy building, cold storages plants are also considered.

Eligibility :

All individuals engaged in cultivation of crop as owners of land or as permanent tenants or as lease holders (for reasonably long period) and have adequate productive utility of proposed construction.

Nature Of Facility :

Term loan for capital expenditures & Cash credit for working capital requirements.

Repayment Schedule :

Maximum 7 years.

Construction and Management of Godowns and Farm Buildings.

With increasing higher levels of production of foodgrains and other agriculture produce, a network of rural godown/storage centers to serve the economic interest of the farming community for storing there produce in the warehouse is required. The scheme envisages construction and management of godowns with capacities ranging from above 200 MTs by cooperative societies, market committees, state warehousing corporations, individuals under agreement from FCI/ state warehousing corporations.

Eligibility :

Loan will be granted to individuals, partnership firm, association, cooperative societies, market committees or state warehousing corporations provided they produce evidence to the satisfaction of the bank that they are in possession of land for construction of godown and site has been suitably certified by FCI/ State warehousing corporation.

Details of the Scheme :

  • State warehousing corporation will provide technical guidance and assistance in the design and construction of godown.
  • Godown should be as per specification/ design approved by state warehousing corporation or FCI.
  • Construction to be completed within 6 month of disbursement.
  • Farmers will be charged rent as prescribed by the state government for storing agriculture produce.

National Horticulture Board through NABARD also provide capital investment subsidy from time to time by formulating special scheme.

Nature Of Facility : Term loan for capital expenditures

Repayment Schedule : Maximum 7 years.

Development of Horticulture

Agriculture being the backbone of the Indian Economy, Bank of Baroda has contributed significantly in accelerating the pace of rural development by providing finance to farmer. Bank also finance to farmers for establishing new or for maintaining old orchards.

The mode of finance covers activities of establishing new or maintaining existing orchards, gardens, plantations and nurseries. All capital cost for development of horticulture and maintenance costs of plants, seedlings, grafts, fertilizer, insecticides, pesticides, wages salaries etc is financed.

Eligibility :

All persons engaged in raising fruit gardens, plantations and nursery crops as owners of land or permanent tenants or as lease holders (for reasonably long period).

Nature Of Facility :

Term loan for capital expenditures & Cash credit for working capital requirements.

Repayment Schedule
Maximum period of 5 to 7 years excluding gestation period when only interest should be recovered.

Subsidy :

National Horticulture Board also provide Back Ended subsidy from time to time by formulating special schemes.

The mode of finance covers activities of terracing, bunding, leveling, kyari preparation, drainage lay out and reclamation of saline, alkaline and ravine lands.

Eligibility :

All persons engaged in raising crops, fruit gardens, plantations and nursery crops as owners of land or permanent tenants or as lease holders (for reasonably long period).

Nature Of Facility : Term loan.

Repayment Schedule : Maximum period of 7 years with one year holiday / moratorium.

Capital expenditure and working capital requirement of units engaged in dairy, piggery, poultry, sericulture etc.

Agriculture being the backbone of the Indian Economy, Bank of Baroda has contributed significantly in accelerating the pace of rural development by providing finance to farmer. Bank also finance to farmers for allied activities like dairy piggery , poultry etc.

The mode of finance covers to meet capital expenditure and working capital requirement of units engaged in dairy, piggery, poultry, sericulture and rearing of sheep, goat and camel, for construction of animal sheds, pig house, poultry sheds, purchase of milch animal, pig breeding ,chicks, layers, equipment/ machinery / transport vehicle for purchase of feed and to meet other expenditure etc .

Eligibility :

All persons including small and marginal farmers and agricultural labourers engaged in agriculture and allied activities.

Nature Of Facility :

Term loan for capital expenditure and cash credit for working capital requirements.

Repayment Schedule :

Term loan: for purchase of milch cattle 4 years. For fishery, piggery, apiculture, sericulture, etc 3 to 7 years depending upon the economic viability of the scheme but not less than 36 months.

Financing Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes

Agriculture being the backbone of the Indian Economy, Bank of Baroda is contributing significantly in accelerating the pace of rural development by providing finance to farmer. Bank also finance for ameliorating the conditions of scheduled caste and scheduled tribes.

Eligibility and purpose :

Persons who have been allotted land by State government, can be financed for purchase of farm implements, tools, pairs of bullocks, creation of irrigation facilities by way of digging of well, installation of pum pset etc.

Finance can also be extended to those, who may not be allotted land, for carrying subsidiary occupation like milch animal, poultry, sheep, goats, pig rearing, bee-keeping, sericulture, fishery.

Nature Of Facility : Term loan as well as working capital as per requirement .

Repayment Schedule :

12 month for cash credit and monthly/qtly/half yearly and annual installments for term loan maximum 7 years.
